Natal/RN. The Federal Police caught in flagrante, on the afternoon of this second fair, 12/30, at the Governador Aluízio Alves International Airport, in São Gonçalo do Amarante, Região Metropolitana de Natal, a suspicion of international drug trafficking. With the foram they apprehended 2.5 kg of cocaine hidden in rum jugs.
This happened during the inspection of passengers coming from other states that intended to access the international shipping sector. The scheme was discovered thanks to the use of a drug detector and X-ray equipment.
Questioned by the police, he alleged that it was an alcoholic beverage acquired in Bolivia and that it would be taken to Lisbon, in Portugal. However, if he was asked to open one of the bottles, he refused.
If it is negative, the police will attempt to transfer the liquor to another container, but only a small amount of liquid is left, while the bottle remains heavy. To clarify the situation, one of them was broken in the presence of suspicion, revealing, in its interior, a kind of substance containing a white substance that was submitted to the preliminary test and was identified as cocaine.
The man was arrested and taken to the Federal Police headquarters, where the other bottles were also opened, confirming the presence of drugs.
The suspect was convicted of international drug trafficking, underwent a crime corpus examination at the Technical-Scientific Institute of Expertise (ITEP) and remains in custody at the PF headquarters, at the disposal of Justice.
This was the 10th drug incident handled by the Federal Police this year at the airport. The total value of the passenger terminal compartment is 82.41 kg.
