The head of the National Directorate of Migration (DNM), Sebastián Seoane, participated in the closing activity of the Eurofront program that was carried out in the auditorium of the Ministry of National Security.
The meeting was aimed at presenting the achievements of the Regional Cooperation Program between the European Union and the countries of South America, within the framework of strengthening the integral border management and the fight against human trafficking and the illicit traffic of migrants.
The director of the DNM stressed the importance of joint work and international cooperation in the fight against trafficking and traffic of people. “In the National Directorate of Migration we have advanced in important key actions that deepen the prevention, detection and combat of these crimes, such as cooperation mechanisms, the development of technological tools and the training of agents.”
In this sense, the official listed some of the main achievements: “We have updated the regional action guide for the early detection of situations of trafficking in persons in border steps of Mercosur; We develop a technological solution to consolidate information about the transnational crime; And recently we inaugurate the safe space for victims of human trafficking in Puerto Chalanas, Aguas Blancas, in coordination with national, provincial authorities and various agencies. The articulated work undoubtedly results in better results, ”concluded Seoane.
