Caxias/MA. The Federal Police, together with the Controladoria Geral da União – CGU, launched this fifth day, 12/19, to Operação Dolo Malo, with the purpose of repressing crimes related to the tender carried out by the municipality of Timon/MA, which resulted in contract assignment not worth R$ 9,182,130.66 (nine thousand cent and eight and two thousand cent and three reais and sixty and six centavos), originating from the Companhia de Desenvolvimento dos Vales do São Francisco e do Parnaíba – CODEVASF. 15 search and arrest warrants are being carried out in the cities of Teresina/PI and Timon.
An investigation conducted by the Federal Police Delegation in Caxias/MA led to the identification of a criminal group that frustrated the competitive nature of the bidding process and directed it to favor the winning company. Commission, after awarding the contract that aims to construct basic sanitation works in the city of Timon, through payments of securities, in the form of tips, to employees of the municipality, through deposits in the accounts of front companies and family members linked to the servants.
The group, made up of businessmen, servants and relatives under investigation, moved in a suspicious manner, between the months of April 2022 and August 2024, approximately R$12 million. Such movement consists of transfers between physical and legal persons and has as final recipients occupants of management positions in the prefecture of Timon.
The operation includes the participation of 40 federal police in both Piauí and Maranhão states, as well as CGU servers. There are serious crimes of criminal association, peculato, active and passive corruption and frustration of the competitive nature of the tender, whose maximum penalties are 47 years in prison.
During the operation, seven vehicles were seized and R$ 93,700.00 (ninety three thousand and seven hundred reais) in kind.
