Boa Vista/RR. The Federal Police deflated on Thursday (12/18) Operação Martellus, with the objective of dismantling a criminal association constituted during the electoral period of 2024, turned to the practice of buying votes and other eleitorais crimes.
PF serves 18 search and arrest warrants and 14 temporary arrest warrants issued by Justice of the 1st Eleitoral Zone of Roraima.
The investigation began after the flagrante detention of several people on a day (5/10) for the crime of electoral corruption. On occasion, a surprise, appointed in the investigation as campaign leader, had co-opted voters to vote for a certain candidate who was running for reelection to the position of mayor of the municipality of Boa Vista. In return for the vote, these people received amounts that varied between R$ 100 and R$ 150. The candidate, who was re-elected, also participated in the previous years.
Today (6/10), a search and apprehension conducted by the PF identified the practice of various eleitorai crimes, culminating in the flagrante detention of the candidate for the practice of two crimes of eleitoral corruption, money laundering and by third party in its gross form em sua residence, o que é crime.
Once in prison, the candidate was released pursuant to a decision issued at the habeas corpus seat.
The scheme, which would be led by the candidate, would have the support of public agents, including an officer of the Military Police of the state of Roraima who would keep the observer informed about complaints received about the investigated vote buying.
The viewer had a group in the application of messages where they involved fariam provision of accounts on the scheme. At least R$ 1 million were used to buy votes.
The police investigator suggests that the vereador, who was previously investigated for various crimes, had received traffic sponsorship for the exercise of his parliamentary activities, including for the dispute over the presidency of the municipal legislative house.
Those investigated could be indicted for crimes of criminal association, electoral corruption, electoral ideological falsification, illegal transportation of voters, violation of vote secrecy, violation of functional secrecy, misappropriation and money laundering.
The repression of elected crimes is essential to guarantee the integrity of the democratic process. The rigorous enforcement of the Federal Police in Roraima against these crimes does not only discourage the repetition of these behaviors, but also reinforces the principle of legality and transparency of the electoral process. Com isso, PF reaffirms its commitment not to combat electoral corruption in the state, not allowing impunity of its executors.
