Maringá/PR. A Federal Police deflagrou, this fifth day, 12/19, the second phase of Operation Cold Meal, with the purpose of investigating diversions of public verbas by means of crimes of frustration of the competitive nature of bidding, constitution of criminal organization, washing of dinheiro, besides other crimes correlates.
The investigation was initiated based on an anonymous complaint that narrates possible diversion of public verbs due to fraud in tenders carried out by the Prefecture of Maringá, during the COVID-19 Pandemic, as nearly R$ 1,700 thousand were lost to public coffers.
With the outbreak of the 1st phase of the Operation, several elements were located that corroborate the occurrence of fraud in tenders in Maringá and region, not restricting those that occurred during the period of the global pandemic. Foram found indications that entrepreneurs in conclusion, through simulation of competition, combination of prices and lots, participated in various tenders with direction of winners and increase of prices of products. Another verified method was the use of fraudulent fiscais notes to induce the rebalancing of contract prices, thus increasing the values obtained.
This second phase has as many others involved, including two public servants of the Maringá Prefecture, due to indications of conluio with businessmen to fraud the tenders.
