The National Directorate of Migration, an organization dependent on the Vice Chief of Staff of the Interior, informs that to travel with a minor it is necessary to process the corresponding authorization.
The authorization can be managed without an appointment in more than 100 Immigration offices throughout the country, including delegations, immigration offices and border crossings.
There are three different modalities depending on the time the passenger has before the trip: Normal, Express or Instantly.
The Normal procedure takes 10 business days to process, while the Express procedure is obtained in 48 hours. Both can be done at the Migration Headquarters and in any of our delegations. The Instant procedure, the passenger receives it in a maximum of 2 hours, can be carried out at the Ezeiza Airport, Aeroparque, Buquebus, at the Headquarters and at all border crossings and delegations.
Permission is necessary when the minor is traveling with only one parent or guardian, or if he or she is traveling with third parties. In the case of traveling with both parents, only documentation proving the relationship is required.
At the time of carrying out the procedure, the minor’s documentation, the documentation of the authorizers and the documentation that proves the link must be presented. One of the parents can appear and grant authorization to the other, although if the latter is outside the country, they must process it at the corresponding consulate.
Authorizations can be requested for different periods of time:
For a single trip (this must be used within 90 days of its issuance) For a defined period of time or until reaching the age of majority
At the same time, the revocation of the authorization can also be requested partially or totally.
